IMPORTANT UPDATES!!!! --- U-Pick Blueberries are open to CSA members ONLY and guests accompanying them.
9/1/21 update: THE BLUEBERRY PATCH IS CLOSED FOR THE SEASON. See you next year!
8/21/21 update: I think it's finally about time to say, LAST CALL for blueberry pickin'!!! There are still some late varieties pumping out great berries. Go enjoy them while they're here!
8/14/21 update:
Blueberries are STILL GOING STRONG! This is the longest season ever for them. They are super sweet from the heat, easy to pick. Enjoy! Last week? Or maybe a few more, who knows?
8/7/21 update:
The bushes are loaded with sweet berries! Blueberry season just keeps going this year! Come grab some while they're here, winter is coming fast :) I love the late season varieties.
8/1/21 update:
There are plenty of blueberries left on the bushes, still great picking. Last chance to stock up! Maybe 1-2 weeks left. Different bushes taste differently, make sure to sample different rows so you can find your preference!
7/25/21 update:
After weeks of rain, the sun has finally come out again, and the bushes are sweet and loaded with blue ripe berries. The picking will be very good this week! The bottom row is small bushes but BIG berries. Have fun! This is the week to stock up your freezers for winter smoothies.
7/24/21 update: Yes there are still lots of berries out there! We're open 7am-7pm, self-pay (details below)
7/13/21 update: Despite the rainy days lately, the berries are starting to ripen BIG TIME so I would say conditions look GREAT for picking. Lots of big blue ones. I would not pick in the rain though... lightning closes the patch. Enjoy!
7/11/21 update: There are definitely a few yummy berries out there, but I wouldn't say it's very good for bulk picking. We need some sun! Rain will close the patch. Let's hope for some sun soon!
7/8/21 update:
The patch will be closed this Thursday and Friday due to rainy weather and to give the bushes the chance to ripen more. We will open again this Saturday July 10th 7am-7pm. They may be somewhat slim pickings until we get some more sun. Next week should be decent. Stay tuned!
7/7/21 update:
The berries are loaded in the top two rows. I suggest going to the far ends of the rows to find the most berries.

U-Pick Blueberry Patch Open NOW
Details below!
Our blueberries continue to be completely free of chemical pesticides or herbicides, managed using only organic practices.
The gypsy moth caterpillars did a lot of damage to the leaves this spring but we picked them off by hand and gave them bushes supplemental irrigation in the hopes that they can push through. The berry crop is loaded as usual! We are using a reusable black plastic tarp to control weeds this year instead of weedwacking. I hope you enjoy the patch as much as we do. For us it's not only about the year-round antioxidant-laden smoothie materials, but the experience of picking too.
We are a small operation and have only 1/4 acre of berry bushes. If the patch gets picked out, we may close it to pickers until the new berries ripen more.
HOURS:
This year we will be open every day 7am-7pm. Please park at the greenhouse parking lot and walk up to the blueberry patch.
PRICE: $7/quart
We are doing the same pricing & payment arrangement as last year (by volume not weight)
RULES:
- Please check the Blueberry Update page before you come.
- Please respect our neighbor's yard-- they rent us ONLY the blueberry patch inside the fence-- the other berries and trees are their own personal garden. Thank you!
- No masks required this year in the blueberry patch. Please maintain distancing and be considerate.
- Payment will be made at the blueberry gate this year, honor system, not at the barn. We only accept checks or exact cash. Bring small bills, as we will not provide change. Please measure your pickings accurately (we will have quart and pint containers available for purchase).
- Bring your own picking buckets (suggestion below) & containers to measure what you've picked.
- No dogs allowed.
- Please supervise your children, and don't let them wander outside of the blueberry fence.
- There is a bathroom you can use in the barn.
- Please dress appropriately for the heat and stay hydrated. It gets quite hot in the blueberry patch.
- We reserve the right to close the patch in inclement weather and if the patch is "picked out".
- Please leave the field if you see lightning.
- We are not "open to the public" ... right now we are only open to CSA members. You are welcome to bring friends and family, but please accompany them.
- Use a bucket or large container like the one below, with a piece of twine or a belt tied around your neck or waist. This allows you to pick with both hands!
- Pick only ripe blue ones that fall right off when you pick them.
- Wash your berries before eating them.
- Freeze them as-is in ziplocks or plastic containers for smoothies, pies, oatmeal, crisps, and more during the winter!
- We have buckets at the barn you can borrow, please return them back to the barn.
- Usually the farther you walk down the row, the more ripe berries there are to pick! It's worth it! Hold yourself back on the first few bushes, they are the most frequently picked.
- Picking bucket
- Quart & Pint containers for sizing
- An extra bucket or bag to transfer your berries into when you're measuring out volume
- Cash or Checkbook (exact change only)
- Sunhat, sunscreen, water bottle
