FOR CSA MEMBERS & THE PUBLIC, ALL AGES
Craig Smith, Ionia's own bike wizard and Mendon Cyclesmith owner, is here to walk us through some bike maintenance tips. What should you inspect on your bike for prior to riding it? What tools make up the essential bike kit? If you're biking and your chain slips off when switching gears, how do you fix it? What is basic road riding etiquette? Where are some good local trails for beginners?
Bring your questions! Heck, bring your bike! Let's nerd out together.
All experience levels welcome. Dress warmly!

"LIFE OF THE SENECA"
PRESENTED BY GANONDAGAN!
FOR CSA MEMBERS & THE PUBLIC, ALL AGES
This presentation will cover the formation of the Haudenosaunee Culture, specifically the Senecas at Ganondagan. It will include the importance of the construction of the Bark Longhouse. Everyday life in the Bark Longhouse of the 1600’s will be explained.Interpreters may share a variety of items from the Bark Longhouse such as furs, felt hats, bone tools, cornhusk items, wooden bowls and spoons with the clan symbols and trade items. There will be a focus of the life of Haudenosaunee Women, since we are female-powered farm!
Bring layers. This event is rain or shine, and we will make room in the barn if needed.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND PLANT SALE & FARM TOURS!
FOR CSA MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC, ALL AGES
We are past the official frost date! As happy as we are to provide you with bountiful veggies spring through autumn, we also understand the joy that growing your own garden provides! We always plant a little extra, in case we experience some loss or poor germination. Now that many of our young ‘uns are tucked safely in the ground, come see what leftovers we have! As we draw closer to the sale, we will be able to let you know what plants to expect. Please bring your own containers, cardboard boxes, etc, as we need to keep our trays, we use them year after year!
Free to attend, plant prices will be posted at sale.

NEEDLE FELTING WORKSHOPS with SHARON from LAZY ACRE ALPACAS
FOR CSA MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC, AGES 13 and UP
Did you know not a mile away there is an alpaca farm and it’s open to the public?! Lazy Acre Alpacas are wonderful neighbors to have! Join Lazy Acre Alpacas co-owner Sharon as she teaches a needle felting introductory class, using a blend of alpaca and sheep fibers! This is a great class for friends, fiber enthusiasts, teens and parents, and all those curious about needle felting, but never had the tools to try it out! Sharon provides all the necessary tools and materials to be used during the class. At the end of the workshop, you will each be going home with your homemade, needle felted, gnome friend! Two dates to choose from, go to one, or both!

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21, 10AM - 12PM ----- 4 & up
This is a short "day camp" style workshop for young ones & the young at heart! Taught by Raven Piersen, an early childhood professional, and Farmer Rachel, an art educator and Wild Hill farmer, we invite your young creatives and nature lovers to a unique farm educational experience! Combining play, exploration, and nature, your children will learn a fun printmaking technique and bring home a pack of homemade cards to share!
In these two hours, your young artists will join our teachers on an observational and interactive farm walk, learn a printmaking method using vegetables and non-toxic, washable paint, get a field fresh snack break, and have a story time!

We are happy to welcome Solidago Apiaries to Wild Hill Farm! Kira, a CSA member, and Lisa are experienced beekeepers who are passionate about honeybee education and community building. Join us to learn about honeybees and watch them up close in an observation hive! Together we’ll take a Pollinator’s Walk to identify other beneficial pollinators that are found on the farm. Learn what the buzz is all about!

SUMMER BARN DANCE! GENESEO STRING BAND
FOR CSA MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC, ALL AGES
Come one, come all! To our midsummer celebration!!
The Geneseo String Band is a regional power house of traditional barn dance music, led by local NYS music historian and educator Jim Kimball. Student members, community members, and alumni members will have your heart dancing to the barn rafters, your toes tappin’ and your hands clappin’ along with the songs! Wear your dancing shoes, and come prepared to partake in a few square dances, the instructions are easy, it’s all about having a good time on the farm!
Join us at 6PM with a potluck dish to share. This community will be feeding the band, our neighbors and friends, and our hardworking farm crew, so bring enough to share! Please bring your own dinner wares and serving utensils.
Music will begin at 7pm and end at 10pm. You are welcome to bring your own adult beverages on the grounds that you party responsibly!

"Art on the Farm" Series for Kids & Adults
CYANOTYPE PRINTMAKING
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 23, 10AM - 12PM --- AGES 9 & up
This is a short "day camp" style workshop for young ones & the young at heart! Taught by Raven Piersen, an early childhood professional, and Farmer Rachel, an art educator and Wild Hill farmer, we invite your young creatives and nature lovers to a unique farm educational experience! Combining play, exploration, and nature, your children will learn a fun printmaking technique and bring home a pack of homemade cards and a jacket patch! In these two hours, your young artists will join our teachers on an observational and interactive farm walk, get a field fresh snack break, and learn about cyanotype printing, creating their own prints, and fabric patch. NEW TIME! FOR MONTH OF AUGUST!

YOGA IN THE FIELD
FOR CSA MEMBERS & THE PUBLIC, AGES 13 & UP
Join us relaxing Yoga in the Fields, under the open sky.
These classes are designed for the beginner and the experienced yogi and everywhere in between. They will maintain a focus on correct alignment, awareness of breath, and creating space and stillness within. In a soft grass pathway between our fields, with beauty and bounty all around, we will cultivate a sense of connection and groundedness, balancing and blossoming from the inside out. There will be a combination of standing and seated postures, guided breathing exercises and poses that encourage deep relaxation and rejuvenation.
Bring a mat, warm layers, and water. Yoga will be cancelled in the event of rain.
Rotating instructors are Teresa Keyes, Jill Volpe, Brianna Hall, and Monica DiCesare.

SUNDAY PICNIC and CONCERT - CLINTON’S FOLLY
FOR CSA MEMBERS AND PUBLIC, ALL AGES
Our August featured artist is local string band, Clinton’s Folly! Clinton’s Folly is a three-piece string band from Rochester, NY, blending the sounds of the Erie Canal, Adirondacks, and Genesee Valley regions with the mountain music tradition of Appalachia.
Dan Lynch is a multi-instrumentalist, music teacher, and historian with deep roots in the New York State music tradition. Clara Riedlinger is a fiddle player and ballad singer who got her start in the Baltimore old-time scene and now travels throughout the mountain region soaking up tunes from elders and tradition-bearers. Allegra Whiting is an Eastman School of Music and Juilliard trained cellist who has recently caught the old time bug and discovered that there is no cure! Come ready to dance, clap, and sing along!
This is an outdoor performance so please dress accordingly. Bring a blanket picnic, or some lawn chairs if you’re inclined! This 90 minute performance will have an intermission, a chance to gather and chat with friends and new faces, and hear stories and chat with the musicians.

SUNDAY CONCERT & PICNIC with TRAVIS KNAPP
FOR CSA MEMBERS AND PUBLIC, ALL AGES
Our September featured artist is Travis Knapp, a musician, farmer, and all ‘round good fellow from Erin, NY! His joyful sound is brought to our ears accompanied by clawhammer banjo, resonate lyrics of hope, love and justice, and heartfelt storytelling. Bring your dancing shoes and twirling skirts! Travis’ music will surely have you grooving along, clapping and tapping to each song!
This is an outdoor performance so please dress accordingly. Bring a picnic blanket or lawn chairs, and your own picnic food/bev to enjoy. This 90 minute performance will have an intermission, a chance to gather and chat with friends and new faces, and browse Travis’ music merch and Fun Acres Herb Farm offerings.

Our end of the season hootenanny!!
Rose and the Bros is a nationally known Zydeco group from upstate NY’s own Trumansburg! Forming band members, Rosie and Paul, are fellow CSA farmers, caring for and cultivating Sweet Land Farm in addition to playing rousing sets all over America! Rose and the Bros is rooted in southern Zydeco dance tradition, their soaring and swinging set will have you on the dance floor in no time at all!
Join us at 6PM with a potluck dish to share. This community will be feeding the band, our neighbors and friends, and our hardworking farm crew, so let’s throw down in the kitchen so we can throw down on the dance floor! Can’t Cajun the ragin’! Please bring your own dinnerwares and serving utensils.
Music will begin at 7pm and end at 10pm. It’s October, so dress accordion-ly! Feel free to come in costume, win a (sur)prize! You are welcome to bring your own adult beverages on the grounds that you party responsibly! Zydeco 101 dance lesson included (Thanks RCZN)!
