Please Note: This was last year's share. Contents and price will vary with the season. Please stay tuned for information in October about sign-ups for 2023. Thanksgiving Shares 2022! $50 each -- about 20lbs of produce all grown organically at Wild Hill Farm! Hearty fall vegetables for your feasting or squirreling away. This is about a half bushel volume-wise, see photo below in bin. You may want to get more than one of these if you have a large family. Most of these veggies will store for months in the fridge or garage. Root veggies will be unwashed, the dirt helps them stay fresh longer. See storage tips below. This share will not be free choice like we sometimes have done in the past, we think we've got a pretty good selection. We will help pack some of it for you for a quicker pick-up at the barn. This share is open to non-CSA-members as well as our regular summer CSA members, so tell your friends. Happy feasting! Storage Tips: Carrots, potatoes, and other root vegetables store best cold and moist-- they last really long in plastic bags in the fridge (like up to 6 months!). You can also store them in a cool garage or basement. The key is keeping them in fairly sealed (just a tiny bit of ventilation) containers or bags to keep the humidity high so they don't dry out. 35-45 degrees ideal. Make sure they don't freeze or they will get mushy when they thaw. For longer storage, it's best to use unwashed root veggies, they will last for months because the soil protecting them also helps moderate humidity. Squash & Garlic & Sweet Potatoes store well at room temperature. Your fridge is too cold! Keep them on your counter and use up within a few weeks. THANK YOU! Farmer Erin & the Wild Hill Farm Crew |
